Chain: Club 3000 Bingo
Club 3000 is the biggest bingo success story of the past two decades. Founded in 2006 by Brian Fraser, the family-run chain opened its first club in Coatbridge, near Glasgow, a purpose-built venue that made headlines just two years later when it paid out a world-record £1.2 million to a single winner.
From that one Scottish club, Club 3000 has grown into the UK’s largest independent bingo operator and the third biggest chain overall, behind only Mecca and Buzz. It currently runs around 25 clubs across England, Scotland and Wales, with venues in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester, Cardiff and beyond. Unusually for the industry, it’s still expanding. While rivals have spent much of the last decade closing clubs, Club 3000 has been building new ones from scratch: a purpose-built venue opened in Blackpool in 2023, followed by a £5.5 million club in Hunslet, Leeds in August 2025, complete with its own ice cream van. New clubs in Sunderland and Bristol are due to open in 2027, with the Bristol venue replacing the much-loved Broadwalk Shopping Centre club in Knowle, which was forced to close in October 2025 when the centre was condemned for demolition.
The chain’s approach is refreshingly traditional. Big prize money, cash-in-hand payouts and a proper game of bingo, rather than the party-night gimmicks some competitors have leaned into. Its electronic bingo terminals are affectionately known as “Bingo Bees”, and the company has also expanded into online bingo for those who’d rather play from the sofa.
