Club 3000 Bingo Hyde Road is one of the genuinely big beasts of British bingo, seating around 2,000 players with roughly 200 electronic terminals, a large on-site car park, licensed bar and café facilities, and even its own Harry Ramsden’s outlet in its Mecca days. It’s a purpose-built, large-format club in the Belle Vue and Gorton area, designed squarely around the practical demands of mass-market bingo rather than any grand cinema history, and its exact original opening date isn’t reliably documented, though it sat alongside a strong concentration of other big Manchester bingo clubs including Kirkmanshulme Lane, Sale and Old Trafford.
On 16 August 2019, Rank announced it had agreed to sell five Mecca clubs, including Hyde Road, Cwmbran, Greenock, Ipswich and Leith, to Club 3000 Bingo for £2.2 million, having judged their contribution to Mecca’s profits was no longer material. The sale completed later that year, generating Rank a £1.8 million profit on disposal. Notably, a lot of the existing Mecca staff and regular customers stayed on through the changeover, giving the club real continuity beneath the new branding. Today it operates as Club 3000 Bingo Hyde Road, open seven days a week from 11am with daily afternoon and evening sessions, offering traditional and electronic bingo, big prize games, a slots area, bar and food, all within the same enormous building. It stands as a strong example of a club Mecca no longer saw fit to keep going, finding a genuine second life under new ownership, with the same huge capacity, the same local customer base, and much of the same community carrying on largely unchanged.

I have sent a email to Mecca Bingo but have not yet had a relpy after over a month. I am unhappy with the text service as I recieve a text nearly every week stating that ALL Mecca Clubs do buy 6 get 6 tickets free on a tuesday but when I went to Mecca Hyde Road I found out that Hyde Road are the only club which do not do this deal and I had to pay full price with my friend. I feel that this was very unfair and a lie by Mecca Bingo.
The company should be informed that Hyde road do not do this offer and inform customers on the weekly text they send out. I have not been back to bingo since at Hyde Road and do not plan to, one customer lost and possibly many more who have been annoyed by this false offer.
