Well, I’m sure that the many hundreds of thousands of members would disagree with the headline of the post, but The Times says otherwise. Following on from previous news about Gala Bingo’s parent group’s financial troubles comes the news that the private equity backers of Gala Coral are concerned that their £5billion pound investment is […]

From The Dragon’s Den To Bingo Espanol
One of the TV highlights from 2007 was seeing online bingo in the spotlight on my favourite show Dragon’s Den. I had the pleasure of meeting Emmie from the team that pitched on the show at the 3rd Online Bingo Summit last Summer. Needless to say I brought up Dragon’s Den and discussed how well […]
Round Up – Mecca Profits And Halls And Government Rejection
There’s been a few stories the last week of interest to Playing Bingo readers out there, and I’ll give you a quick round-up and overview of the stories involved. First up is news from The Rank Group about their end of year trading figures. They’ve seen a slip in profits, but have managed to beat […]
Still Holding Back On VAT Cuts
You would think that in a recession the government would be doing everything that they can to maintain the economy and keep people in work. However this still does not apply to the bingo industry who are still being unfairly taxed; with the ultimate result being club closures and job losses. Over 100 clubs have […]
The Bingo Industry Magazine Has Been Suspended
Another story that has sneaked up on me is the suspension of the bingo link magazine. For those of you who are not in the know the bingo link is THE industry quarterly magazine. Buckingham Bingo Financial Troubles
The ongoing financial crisis for land based bingo seems to be deepening at the moment. I’ve recently featured stories looking at Gala Bingo’s finances and their problems. but today it’s the turn of a smaller player, The Buckingham Bingo chain. The Telegraph carries a report about the chain’s current debt problems, concerned with Buckingham Bingo’s […]

Having just got the CAP Euro event out of the way, and the BingoPort.co.uk player awards, I’m now turning my attention to the next big event in the online bingo world, the 4th Annual Online Bingo Summit, which is due to be held June 16th ? 17th at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London. The […]
Even More Tales Of The President’s Step-mother!
I know I have been harping on about this over my last few blogs but this is another story about the presidents bingo-playing step-mother. (The USA secret service must be getting really peeved looking at this blog again and again!!!) Anyway, I was flicking through my most favourite of newspapers last Saturday and fell across […]
Cheeky Bingo – The Free Bingo Sensation
It’s rare I’d even bother mentioning the launch of a new network online bingo skin on this blog, but I’m breaking with convention here to do just that. The site in question is Cheeky Bingo, the latest site to be launched by Cashcade (the people behind Foxy Bingo) and I have a strong feeling that […]
