Charity Bingo Review
Despite numerous requests for details of charitable donations by the site from launch in October 2012 to December 2013, the owner has refused to provide the information. We no longer feel that we can actively promote this brand.
Charity Bingo was the fifth brand to join the 15 Network using the Jumpman Gaming software and opened to players in October 2012. When visiting the site for the first time you can’t help but notice that little effort has been put into the design but whilst first impressions to count, if you can get past a boring home page, you’ll find the site has quite a bit to offer a player looking for something a little different to the norm.
In the first instance Charity Bingo lives up to its name with 10% of all deposits made being donated to a worthy cause. The charity changes each month and the site says that “The more you deposit the more you give to charity, so deposit now and make a difference to someone in need”. This alone could be one of the reasons players choose this brand over the others using the same network.
Secondly, only a few other brands offer the same gaming experience when you step through their virtual doors so at the point of writing the review, player numbers weren’t as high as at other brands on networks thus increasing your chances of being a winner.
It takes just a couple of minutes to register to play with Charity Bingo but your should note that although financial details are required at sign-up, no money will be taken from your account until you choose to visit the cashier and deposit.
As soon as registration is complete you are ready to play and your first port of call is the bingo lobby. Here you will see four tabs; 90 ball, 75 ball, Jackpots and Instants. When choosing one of the bingo tabs you can see the rooms available with details of the jackpot available, time until next game and the hosts name. Additionally you can see the number of players in each room.
When in a bingo room the layout is the same as with other brands using this software, and not too dissimilar to that of the Dragonfish/888 product. The cards are to the left of your screen with the callboard just to the right. Above your cards are the game details and the bingo balls. To the left of the screen is the chat room with instant win games above it and your account details and options above.
One of the pitfalls with brands on this network is the ticket purchasing limitations with bonus funds. A deposit of £10 earned us a £20 bonus and then the Spin of the Wheel a further £10. We spent £10 cash testing out the instant win games (bonus funds cannot be used) and then went to play bingo. We were limited to 24 tickets on a 10p game on the first game but then were able to max out on the second bingo game we played. A little odd to say the least.
Charity Bingo has a limited number of guaranteed jackpot games at the moment and lacks progressive jackpots. The promotion schedule looks quite busy but when you take a look at what’s on offer, it’s not as impressive as other brands available online today.
There’s potential for this brand, as with the others on the network, but it will be interesting to see how long they maintain the 10% of deposits to charity ethos. We’ve made are £1 donation whilst compiling this review though.
Our Verdict:
Another Jumpman also-ran who seem to have now ditched any pretence of giving the charity as it’s no longer mentioned on the site beyond its name. Avoid.
