  1. Crown Bingo L/P was a bowling alley before that. There was even a bowling league, that my cousin-in-law participated in. Where the caller and stage is, was the lanes and where the pins were. There was also a little disco area upstairs called Frenchies. This used to be the meet up point and get drunk quick before heading off down portsmouth to the discos. The bowling alley was there for a long time and I was upset when it closed for myself and for future generations of children who would have no where to go. I prefer L/P to the others as it is bigger, and the car park is bigger. I used to like the milky coffee Crown used to have, but that has given way to a very poor version of a coffee machine. Its alright if your really thirsty and dont mind drinking a slightly better taste of Gnats pee… Thank goodness for the recently installed Drinks machine. Reasonably priced too x
