It has been a while since I have said this: Armed robbery in the bingo!!!! A club in bradford has recently been robbed at knifepoint, no-one was hurt but they still left with a bundle of cash. This story reminds me of a couple of years ago when a glut of bingo clubs in London […]

Beer Bingo? Cider Bingo?…Anyone!
hello there all, now this is an interesting piece by Venetia Thompson about a new craze going around in the ‘higher circles of society’………WINE BINGO! Basically if you don’t want to read the article it is basically about wine tasting (after you get Venetia’s ‘stereotypical’ view of bingo halls….now theres a suprise), but with bingo […]
Sisters In Bingo Winnings Brawl
It’s not the first time I’ve featured a story about a National Bingo Game prize causing friction between friends and relatives, but this one has a bit of a twist. Instead of featuring a dispute around a share of the National Bingo prize, this one features a dispute about how the money is spent. The […]
Bingo Club Players Switching To Online…Pah!
Just been reading this article claiming that online bingo is the reason that people are being driven away from the bingo halls. This I don’t think is strictly true in my opinion. I have found that it is only a small proportion of bingo hall players play online and in club…..some statistics say that it […]
Gala Bingo Pulls Out Of The Bingo Association
News from the Bingo Association that Gala Bingo have pulled out of the UK trade body. The prize of £60,000 was won on Friday by Michael from Margate, and in the process the show set a Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Online Bingo Game. […]
2 Years On The Telly!
wowsers, I can’t believe I have been working on the telly now for 2 years!!!! It seems to have flown by! I remember the first few weeks of the show when the set was drab and dreary and we were calling the games just like we did in club. And now look at us: It’s […]
A History Of Bingo In The UK By Carolyn Downs
I’m really pleased to introduce this new piece in the history section of the site – A History Of Bingo In The UK. It replaces my old hobbled together history of Bingo in the UK with a scholarly piece by the historian Carolyn Downs. The piece focuses on the earliest origins of the game and […]
The End Of The Day Cliché Awards – Online Bingo Advert Clichés
Sigh… There’s been a whole slew of Bingo adverts on the TV recently, and not a single one of them has managed to move me to write anything positive about them. Instead all I’m seeing is cliché after cliché trotted out to try and inspire me to try one cookie cut Bingo site after another. […]
