The bingo industry online can be very confusing for a novice player with an abundance of sites to choose from and often when you first register to play the person greeting you is the chat host. Their job is to provide assistance to the players and make your gaming experience a happy one. These people, people like you or I, are usually working remotely in the comfort of their own home and are supposedly fully conversant with the bingo software and product at which they are working.
However, on more than one occasion this has proven not to be the case and this made us ask the question, what is expected of a bingo chat host?
Often we have had need to enquire about different aspects of a brand in order to complete reviews but also general queries just as a player only to be told to “Contact Support”. Chat hosts are the receptionist of an online bingo site, the face of the product so why are many not fully trained on their product? You wouldn’t expect to go to your local Tesco’s and ask someone “Where is the butter?” to be told “You’ll have to ring our Customer Support helpline” or “The aisles are clearly labelled”.
All too often the equivalent to this is offered as an answer by a bingo chat host. A question that many players may have is “What is the minimum withdrawal amount from this site?” yet we have had responses that include “It is set out in the Terms and Conditions”, “Contact Live Help” and a few others besides. A chat host should know these answers, for the most part we could tell you the answer for most sites so why can’t the chat host for the product they are working on?
Even if a chat host is working on a networked brand the answer to this question will remain the same simply because the products are the same whether you have come through virtual door A, B or C.
One site whose chat hosts are fully conversant with their product, for the most part, is tombola but this is a rarity and it shouldn’t be!
