Just check out this recent article courtesy of broadsheet paper the Telegraph. Is it just me or is this another article highlighting the stereotypes of bingo clubs?!?!? Apparently the middle classes (female of course—–because we all know that men don’t play bingo!!!!) are playing bingo online because they are embarrassed to visit a real club!!!! Also land based bingo is all about ‘elderly people, smoking and aggressive slot machines’ according to one online operator!
Wowsers, now I know the article is ultimately a positive piece on the explosion of bingo in the online world, but the editorial content and headline used smacks of laziness and cheap shots at the expense of the real bingo players and the halls they frequent.
