Queensgate looks to have been a small, machine-led prize-bingo operation rather than a conventional seated club in the Mecca Bingo or Buzz Bingo mould. The premises at 1-5 Queensgate, in Bradford city centre, appear in local records as Queensgate 1 Bingo and as Queensgate Leisure Prize Bingo, and CAMRA’s Bradford branch lists Bradford Club as an earlier name. That fits what prize bingo usually was: short, self-contained games running alongside gaming machines, rather than scheduled sessions of 90-ball bingo with a caller and a packed hall.

The premises are now Admiral Slots, which promotes gaming machines and casino-style games rather than bingo sessions, and its official page records refurbishment work. Why and when the prize bingo ended isn’t documented in anything we’ve seen, so we’re not sure when Bingo ceased at the venue. One oddity is that the Gambling Commission’s public register still categorises the address under bingo, but that probably reflects the licensing arrangements rather than anyone calling numbers there today.
