Chain: Majestic Bingo / Real Fun Group
Real Fun Group is an independent bingo operator running eleven traditional clubs across England and Wales, nearly all of them under their own local names. It was founded in 2023 by entrepreneurs Kevin McGinnigle and David Gallimore, who set it up to acquire and operate bingo businesses, beginning with Witnall Automatics Limited and its two clubs.
Witnall Automatics is the licensed company behind the clubs, and it’s much older than the Real Fun name. It was incorporated on 22 March 1973 as Harry Witnall (Automatics) Limited, changed its name on 6 March 1996, and is registered at Companies House under number 01103255, with its office in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent. It trades as Real Fun Group Ltd (15181116), and both companies list Mr McGinnigle and Mr Gallimore as directors.
The group’s big step came with Majestic Bingo, which was founded in 2014, built first through the purchase of seven bingo premises from Seldis Cooper and then through the acquisition of several Top Ten Bingo Apollo clubs, including Rhyl. Majestic entered administration in July 2023, and in December of that year Real Fun Group bought its eight clubs, and their freeholds, out of administration. That took the group to ten clubs, and the later purchase of the Lowestoft club from Merkur Bingo brought it to eleven.
Rather than rebrand, the group has kept each club’s local name, including Apollo Bingo, Globe Bingo, Judges, Hippodrome, Roman Bank, Crown Bingo & Social Club and the Ritz. The Majestic name lives on at the Worcester club and online. Having grown by acquisition rather than by building new clubs, it’s one of the more unusually structured groups in UK bingo.
