For online bingo players the name Playtech may not mean much, but we bet you’ll have heard of Virtue Fusion, the bingo software that Playtech produce for many online bingo sites including Betfred Bingo among others. Well now, for the first time ever, bingo has produced a better first quarter revenue than the poker arm of the business.
Online bingo has grown in popularity since its burst onto our pc screens, and every year more and more players log on to enjoy games produced by software suppliers such as Virtue Fusion. However, as the mobile bingo industry has exploded this year, we can only think that has tipped the scaled for bingo over poker.
In the first quarter of 2012, revenue for Playtech bingo has been €4.8 million, beating the €4.4 million of the poker arm of the business. The Playtech casino arm still dominates the business, raising a huge €44 million in revenue in the first quarter.
Online bingo is a brilliant game, and now with mobile versions, and the sheer scope of the Virtue Fusion software, brand such as Betfred Bingo are sailing ahead of the rest of the market.
The Virtue Fusion software has gone through many changes in its time, but now with new games such as Britains Got Talent Bingo, and many other unique games, super promotions and an amazing buzz for the bingo market, it seems the brand is going from strength to strength, and with new bingo sites launching constantly on the software, it can only mean good news for the bingo industry, and Playtech.
