Bingo Advert Music Chart

Turn on your TV screen and the chances are that you will you see at least one bingo commercial during your viewing time. Each of these adverts differ in quite a few ways but many will feature bingo balls, a woman and a laptop. However, some think outside of the proverbial box and come up with something a little more interesting, often with a well-known song as the background music.

Here we have compiled our very own Bingo Advert Music Chart, a top ten of the music featured in commercials based on the chart position that they have reached and how much we loved the music. The most recently launched commercial from Jackpot Joy features “I Believe In A Thing Called Love” by The Darkness, a single that reached number two in the UK Charts in September 2003.

So here is the current run down:

Number 10 – Beach Boys – Fun, Fun, Fun

Whilst this song didn’t chart in the UK with the original, it reached position 24 when re-released with Status Quo in February 1996. The original version was used in the Ladbrokes Bingo commercial in 2009.

Number 9 – Katrina and the Waves – Sun Street

This song hit the UK charts in 1986 but never made it above position 22. It featured in the Cheeky Bingo commercial of early 2011.

Number 8 – Bob Sinclair – Love Generation

This song was originally released in 2005 were it reached number 12 in the UK charts. It’s now the backing music for the new Tombola Bingo adverts.

Number 7 – Sister Sledge – We Are Family

Another great tune used by Foxy Bingo, this time in their commercials of 2008. The song was released in 1979 but didn’t fair to well in the UK charts although an iconic song now.

Number 6 – Kool and the Gang – Ladies Night

This song was released in 1979 and reached UK chart position 9 however we have ranked it in at number 6 simply because it’s a great tune! The track featured in the 888Ladies commercials for their brand that starred Vic Reeves, the first showing of these adverts was in 2008 but they re-appeared in April 2010.

Number 5 – La Vida Es Una Tombola – Marisol

Although to our knowledge this song never made it into the UK charts it would be wrong not to include it in our top ten simply because, in our opinion, it’s one of the best used so far for an online bingo commercial. This song featured in the Tombola Bingo advert of early 2009.

Number 4 – C+C Music Factory – Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)

Although this song made it to number three in the UK charts in late 1990 it’s been bumped to position four as we have a joint second places in our Bingo Advert Music Chart. The song featured in the Bet365 Bingo commercial showing the Bingo Heads dancing around in what can only be described as morph suits.

Number Two

Two songs made it to position two in the UK charts so each take this place in our Bingo Advert Music Chart.

  • The Darkness – I Believe In A Thing Called Love

This song reached number two in the UK charts in September 2003 only kept off the top spot by “Where Is The Love?” by The Black Eyed Peas. The music is currently being used in the new Jackpot Joy marketing campaign featuring an older couple on mobility scooters.

  • Lipps Inc. – Funky Town

Released in 1980 the song reached number two in the UK and was the bands only hit. It featured in the Foxy Bingo “He’s Back” campaign that showed the mascot appearing from a UFO before he and a bunch of women started dancing.

Number 1 – Olivia Newton John and John Travolta – You’re The One That I Want

This song was used in the Foxy Bingo advert of February 2010. This song reached number one in the UK Charts in the summer of 1978 where is stayed for nine weeks.

Foxy Bingo seemed to have fared pretty well in our Bingo Advert Music Chart. Who would you have put as number one and why?
