The Results Of The BingoPort.co.uk Player Awards 2009

Well, it’s been a busy weekend for me here in London, catching up with people who work in the online bingo field and finding out about some of the interesting things planned for online bingo players in the near future. More on that in later posts. The main draw for myself happened on Friday night, and it was the awards ceremony to celebrate the inaugural BingoPort.co.uk Player Awards.

Fair play to BingoPort.co.uk, they put on an impressive spread for the awards, giving it an air of authority and prestige to the proceedings. As well as the team from BingoPort.co.uk there was also a comedy compere to keep things bubbling along and the air as blue as you’d expect from your average bingo club. Personally he was a tad offensive and dated for my liking, but he went down well with crowd despite my head shaking at some of the more unpleasant moments.

The rewards were split between six awards vote for by the membership at BingoPort (which I was amazed to learn now tops 50,000) and another three awards decided by the information compiled from BingoPort.co.uk’s Bingo Trends service. So with out further a do, here’s the results.

Player Awards

Best online bingo chat team: Tombola
Best online bingo TV commercial: Foxy Bingo
Best online bingo promotion: Foxy Bingo Cruise
Best online bingo game innovation: Gala Bingo, All Day Free Bingo
Best new online bingo website: Wink Bingo
Best overall online bingo operator: Foxy Bingo

Bingo Trends Awards

Most online bingo prizes won: Tombola
Fastest growing online bingo website: Ladbrokes Bingo
Most popular online bingo website: Gala Bingo

So there we have it. There are still a couple in there that I would have to question, but overall, I think the results reflect what’s happening in the online bingo world a lot more than the other awards I’ve seen recently. It will be interesting to see if these stay fairly similar come the 2nd Online Bingo Awards which will be happening in June this year at the 4th Online Bingo Summit, more on which in a later post. I also took a lot of photos at the awards, so when I get home and get them off the camera, I will share them here. I’ll finish by once again saying thanks to BingoPort.co.uk for an excellent evening – let’s hope they do the same again next year.
