Express Wins Review

The Daily Express has been a popular tabloid daily ‘news’ rag here in the UK for over a century. This is not its first incarnation as an online gaming site, those with a long memory will remember they offered a St Minver / Cyberbingo powered online bingo site way back when. Forward to 2020 and they’ve relaunched an online gaming site called Express Wins on Jumpman, alongside partner sites Mirror Bingo and (Daily) Star Wins.

There is bingo available here on Express Wins, but it’s very much slots that are the focus, hence the review here in the slots section. It is only mentioned on the All Games page in a tab, there’s is nothing else on the site about it. Jumpman no longer offers bingo to players, instead choosing to license it in from Pragmatic Play, which means unlike the old Jumpman Bingo before they gave up the ghost, there are actually rooms with players in these days.

The focus here is firmly on the slots and casino games. You can sign-up quickly, the process is streamlined, so you only have to enter your postcode for the address finder, then you can select your full address from the options offered. There isn’t as much info required for the KYC process as you would see on DF powered sites, but you do get a pop-up requesting you mail them ID documents before they sort out your winnings. This is standard practice now, so don’t be surprised by this! Personally, I think you should be made to supply these documents before you deposit as this may be enough to discourage problem gamblers or bonus hunters. If you can’t take money out without this in place, why should you be allowed to put it in, is my feeling!

The cashier is straightforward enough, and while the payment options are a bit on the limited side, the most important ones are there. Once you’ve made the first deposit of £10 or more, you get yourself a Loot Chest to open in a pop-up. Make sure you open it then and there for your welcome bonus chance to win up to 500 free spins. In my experience of these across multiple Jumpman sites, you end up with 50 spins, and between £10-£30 bonus wins to take forward. Complete tasks and you can win trophies to unlock more wheel spins for more free games.

Games choice is pretty good, especially if you like the Jackpot Games. You have a choice of the Eyecon games jackpot and Jackpot King amongst them. Frustratingly, they only have the Eyecon and Progressive Pots jackpots on the Jackpot Games tab. Jackpot King games don’t show on there, as do some of the other linked games. They really should address that, as unless you don’t know the game’s name to search it, you could miss one of your favourite big money games. Also, the pots on these games are noticeably smaller and slower to build than on some other big gaming sites, but that also means less players to be against, so you have to weigh that up.

Games also open up in the existing window rather than in a pop-up. There are some layout issues with the ‘back to games’ button overlaying part of the game window. There is information on some of the games that gets covered over by this button. It would be a lot better if the could stick it outside the game window rather than in it. I see no reason why that couldn’t be the case and it’s an easy fix.

You’ll recognise the games they offer as being among the most popular online slots. NetEnt, Red Tiger, Pragmatic Play, EyeCon, SG, Megaways and more are all well represented on the site, as are a variety of games for those that like Table Games. It’s a bit weak on the live table side of gaming if you like that aspect of playing online, but they do have a few popular games with live variants available.

Is there anything to really set this apart from other bog-standard networked skins? Well, other than the brand itself, there’s not a lot here that you couldn’t get in a 100 other places. It’s not great, but it’s not bad either. Faint praise maybe, but the basics are in place for the potential to grow bigger. They could really do with dropping the wagering requirements in line with some of the bigger sites for starters, and make more community features available for starterd, but overall, it’s an acceptable slots offering.

Our Verdict:

With little to differentiate it from their partner sites Mirror Bingo and Star Wins, it’s hard to make a case for visiting Express Wins. Ok, there’s good bonuses and the chance to win trophies for spins for extra free games, and a good selection of games to boot. I suppose if you’re an Express reader then it would be the place for you to go, but beyond that there’s little difference between other Jumpman sites other than the branding.
