Mirror Bingo Review

Mirror Bingo is the online gaming site owned by the well known UK daily tabloid newspaper. The brand has been around a while, and undergone a number of changes, and 2020 sees its latest incarnation. Initially it was using the 888/Globalcom software but then in the summer of 2014 Mirror Bingo switched to Virtue Fusion software and again in 2020 to the Jumpman platform. The review has been rewritten to reflect the latest change.

It’s always sad to see a site turn its back on the Virtue Fusion software, which for us is still the gold standard in the online bingo world. It usually comes about as a site struggles to meet the high number of players required to remain in the network, or because a company wants to cut costs, so we assume Mirror Bingo is in the later as with such a well known brand, keeping the rooms stocked should not be an issue. Ok, it’s never taken off like fellow tabloid The Sun, but still, with a busy online presence for news, it should have been able to transfer that to its bingo offering.

That aside, how does things stand with the site. The sign-up is straight forward, although it’s a little pushy to instantly pop-up a deposit now window at the end of the process. Theres a bit less to it info wise compared to Dragonfish, and should be issue free for anyone signing up. When you make you first deposit you can take adavantage of the megawin spin to see what bonus you receive and then take advantage of it, if you get one!

There’s another first for me, Jumpman have got rid of their (frankfully woeful in recent years) bingo rooms and opted to use Pragmatic Play’s bingo network. I’ve not tried it before, and to be honest, if the note hadn’t have come up at the beginning, I wouldn’t have it realised. I put the fact there were players in a few of the rooms down to the fact it was Mirror Bingo bringing in players, but when I saw the Pragmatic Play logo, I put realised the change. So hurray on that front, finally you can get a game of bingo on a Jumpman site.

There’s not a lot of choice on the bingo rooms mind, especially given the low numbers of players in a few of them. 90 ball, 80 ball and 75 ball on offer. Still better to have one or two rooms that remain running than none at all. The bingo is very stripped back and almost feels like an afterthought – it’s not first in the list of lobby tabs, there’s no chat to speak of and the interface is very simple.

There seems to be more focus on the other games, as is the way with Jumpman these days. Having failed with what could have been a good bingo platform with a bit more effort, they’ve shrugged their shoulders and concentrated on the side games. That’s fine if you like the side games, you’ll find plenty here with Eyecon and Jackpot King pooled jackpots in play, although they are their own ones here as they are a lot smaller than on some bigger networks. NetEnt, Eyecon and Megaways games are there to be enjoyed. But, if you came for the bingo it’s second fiddle for the time being.

That said, with the Pragmatic Play bingo in operation, there is more hope that the bingo side of things can at least grow once more. Jumpman used to do bingo well, and I hope that the Mirror Brand will bring in a lot more new players to make the bingo side swing a bit more. It’s early days but it will be interesting to see how well it grow with this new partnership.

Our Verdict:

Let’s hope this is a positive new start for Mirror Bingo – a move to a new platform that’s operating a new platform. Hopefully they can both grow together and bring Jumpman back to its former bingo glory. At the moment bingo is very much a small portion of what the site has to offer, but as it grows hopefully this will improve the promos and prominence around the site.
