Hippo Bingo Review

When you land at the Hippo Bingo site for the first time you could be forgiven for thinking you have landed at a site offering something for the kids; the home page is bright, colourful and awash with information but it all just seems a little too childlike. Having said that, in comparison with some of the poorly designed sites we have seen, Hippo Bingo is definitely better looking!

The first deposit bonus offered by Hippo Bingo is slightly better than the standard cash match bonus from most Dragonfish networked brands but when you get past the home page and into the games, you’ll find everything that you have seen before at 100+ other brands on the network. This is a shame because Hippo Bingo’s home page is one of the best that we have seen so far. It doesn’t scream Dragonfish network which is maybe the look they were going for.

It takes just a couple of minutes to sign up and get into the bingo action at Hippo Bingo and with seveal free rooms, one of which is open to players who have no made a deposit, you can have a couple of games to get a feel for the software platform. Although chances are you will have played at one site or another that uses the same 888/Globalcom software so it will be familiar with your instantly. Access to the free rooms prior to deposit is time limited and more details of the free bingo available at Dragonfish brands can be found here.

When it comes to the “pay to play” offerings at Hippo Bingo there are several rooms available that offer a selection of three bingo variants. One room offers Swedish bingo, the five line 75 ball game whilst the others have 75 ball pattern games or 90 ball bingo. Some of the rooms at Hippo Bingo have restricted access to players who have made a deposit though. What we found at the time of this review was that the ticket prices were quite high on most games; there were only a couple of the minimum priced games at 5p a piece, the majority were 25p and 50p games.

Hippo Bingo have a selection of pre-buy jackpots to offer, one every day of the week and also offers two progressive jackpots. The 75 ball progressive is won by playing 12 Diamonds are Forever games that play in the Chatterbox room and calling bingo in 34 calls or less. For the 90 ball progressive you simply have to call bingo on the full house in 40 calls or less.

Promotions at Hippo Bingo, with exception of the higher than usual first deposit bonus, as standard to the network so if you are looking for something new and exciting, or for something different from your gaming experience, sadly Hippo Bingo doesn’t have it.
