Daily Record Bingo Review

Those with a very long memory will remember the Daily Record’s first foray into online bingo back in the distant past when it initially launched on the Cashcade / Dragonfish platform. In the intervening years it moved to Virtue Fusion, and then disappeared for a few years before reappearing in March 2021 on the Jumpman platform. And how does it fair I hear you ask – let’s see…

The sign-up is straight forward, although it’s a little pushy to instantly pop-up a deposit now window at the end of the process. There’s a bit less to it with the amount of in info you need to give to some others, say Dragonfish for instance. It should be issue free for anyone signing up as it’s so straight forward. If you use the pop-up as an opportunity to deposit, you’ll get to access your welcome bonus with a spin of the megawheel to discover your reward.

As mentioned elsewhere, Jumpman have replaced their (frankly woeful in recent years) bingo rooms and opted to use Pragmatic Play’s bingo network – a great move as it means there are more players in the rooms (though not massively so) and you’re playing for more than the bit of change you could find by digging your hand down the side of the sofa and having a rummage.

There’s not a lot of choice on the bingo rooms, especially given the low numbers of players in a few of them. 90 ball, 80 ball and 75 ball on offer. Still better to have one or two rooms that remain running than none at all. That said, the bingo is very stripped back and almost feels like an afterthought. You might struggle to spot the bingo games from the lobby. Here’s a hint, click on the little tab with the globe shape on it. No. Me neither…

There seems to be more focus on the other games, as is the way with Jumpman these days. That’s fine if you like the slots and scratch cards, you’ll find plenty here with Eyecon and Jackpot King pooled jackpots in play, although they are their own ones here as they are a lot smaller than on some bigger networks. NetEnt, Eyecon and Megaways games are there to be enjoyed. But, if you came for the bingo it’s second fiddle for the time being.

That said, with the Pragmatic Play bingo in operation, there is more hope that the bingo side of things can at least grow once more. Jumpman used to do bingo well, and I hope that the recent big brand newspaper / magazine brands will bring in a lot more new players to make the bingo side swing a bit more. However, is there really enough here to get excited about over the other skins and platforms out there. Not really.

Our Verdict:

Well, Jumpman seem hell-bent on putting out more sites with its usual lack-lustre, player unfriendly lack of interest. Bingo here is second fiddle to the slots and games, and there’s no community or exclusive promotions to be had. It’s fine if you just want to play small-stakes bingo without any fuss, but for me, it’s a long way of the highs that Jumpman once offered players.
