Coral Bingo Review

Coral is a well-known name in both online and offline gaming with sports betting shops in our high streets, and casino, sports and poker available online alongside bingo. Whilst its sportsbook was online for a number of years prior, it took until October 2012 for them to offer bingo, with the launch of a Virtue Fusion / Playtech powered site.

At launch it looked as though Coral were returning to their bingo roots (although it had taken them a while) as Gala Bingo was formed in 1991 when the Granada Social Clubs merged with the Coral Social Clubs who were then owned by Bass plc. Gala launched in 1991 when 17 clubs rebranded and the new image was born. This was followed in 1997 with another 130 Gala clubs purchased from Bass, seeing the end of the retail version of Coral Bingo.

But that wasn’t the end of things! Gala then split from its retail clubs which became Buzz Bingo. Gala and Coral were then brought by GVC, which then became Entain, and that’s where we find ourselves today! Coral Bingo is now available as a tab on the general Coral site, using Entain’s Electraworks bingo software and network. Phew, that’s a lot of history there!

So as for the site itself, what does Coral Bingo have to offer us bingo players. I’m pleased to say quite a lot, whilst they’re now sharing rooms and players across the Entain network, this is arguably the best network to be playing bingo on. The site offers traditional 90 ball bingo alongside the now traditional (online at least) 75 and 80 ball bingo.

There are a number of different rooms available 24 hours a day, with a range of budgets catered for and the ability to play and chat whilst the games go on. If you’ve ever played at the likes of Foxy or Gala Bingo, things will feel very familiar here, with the site based on the same software and templates as those other sites. Unlike them though, there is a lot more to the site with Poker, Casino and Sportsbook also in the mix.

Where Coral takes a step beyond its fellow label mates is in its Coral Connect card. The membership card gives players the ability to fund and withdraw their accounts at Coral betting shops, which is ideal for those that don’t like to use cards, or want to put some folding cash into their account.

The site offers a number of network exclusive TV tie-in rooms, including Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Friends alongside the networked rooms. The bingo rooms are usually buzzing with players, and there’s enough variety to keep the most ardent player happy. Alongside that is the full suite of alternative online betting and gaming opportunities, be it a hand or two of poker or putting a bet on the horses.

It’s well known that bingo and slots go together like strawberries and cream, so us bingo players like to slink off from the rooms once in a while and spin some wheels. Like all Entain sites, Coral comes with a full suite of games, from the big daily jackpots to the TV and film themed slots. Netent, Blueprint, Eyecon and more are under the games tab and a hop and jump away from the bingo and a welcome break.

Coral has plenty to keep us picky bingo players happy, including regular promotions and player friendly terms. We’re happy to recommend players give it a try.

Our Verdict:

With years of gaming experience, Coral is a brand that people both recognise and trust. With a full suite of games, plenty of rooms, and the added benefit of being able to fund and withdraw via Coral Connect, the site is really the full package and worthy of your time.
