Liverpool – Toxteth Mecca Bingo – Park Road

There was bingo on this site from the later half of the 1990s. Mecca moved into the premises (built in the 1970s) of the Leos/Pioneer Superstore on Park Road in 1997. At that time the Top Rank Bingo in the Gaumont at the Dingle Lane end of Park Road closed and its players would have been moved to this new hall, which we believe opened in April 1997. However, it never did as well as the old hall and following a decline thanks to the smoking ban and falling attendances closed its doors around 2007 when the site was sold to Tesco. Subsequently it was demolished the Tesco Extra premises were built in its place.
