From our research, there have been two seperate lost clubs on Pier Hill in Southend-on-Sea. This hall was the first of the two different clubs, in the premises of the now demolished Ritz Cinema. After converting from a cinema in the early 1970s, the club was intially a Top Rank venue, but later closed and re-opened as an independent club with the name Invicta Bingo. This club closed its doors in 1978, leaving the building derelict until 1981 when it was demolished, and a new shopping centre, The Royals built in its place. The Royals shopping centre is adjacent to the Palace Hotel, which was the location of a Deluxe Bingo Hall, which has its own page elsewhere.
