At the moment we do not have details of the events that led up to, or any of the circumstances surrounding the closure of the Crystal Bingo Shotton, other than the fact that the company dissolved in August 2016, and their Facebook page hasn’t been updated since 2014. We do however know a little bit about about the venue’s history.
The venue originally opened as the Picture palace which was a common name at the time. It may have closed in 1922 to later become an indoor market, then a dance hall and finally Crystal Bingo, the company having been incorporated in 2000.
If you have any further details that may assist us, and you would like to share them with our readers, we would love to hear from you. If you let us know what you know, we will put the details online with your name credited (if you wish, or we can credit the article as anonymous). You will be doing a service to the bingo community and posterity by helping us record details of all Britain’s bingo clubs and halls. Thank you.

Lovely memories of going to empty fruit machines, fantastic manager Tony and the
Lovely Jen who always made me welcome on those cold winter days. But a big thank you to Tony who did a charity night for the North Wales Normandy Veterans to get them back to the Normandy beaches, and with the lovely people of Shotton raised over £2500. The Veterans sadly are long gone but I’ve never forgotten the kindness of Tony
to make it all possible,he helped give the Veterans a wonderful trip xx
