Date of closure: July 2020
Address (for reference only):
Buzz Bingo (Lost Halls)
Endless Street
Salisbury
SP1 1DP
It was announced that this club would close on the 15th of July 2020, one of 26 Buzz Bingo clubs which were victims of the prolonged lock-down of 2020 to combat the spread of Covid 19. Buzz Bingo CEO Chris Matthews took the decision to close the clubs to protect the other 91 clubs in the chain, as part of a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), with the aim to shore-up the business going forward. You can read more on the closures here.
Located in the centre of Salisbury, this now closed Buzz Bingo started life as the Regal Cinema. Opened in 1936, and with over 1,600 seats it was unique in the sense of its complete lack of plushness – most cinemas built during this period were quite ornate, inside and out. It was taken over by ABC Cinemas in 1963 and renamed, although it only lasted six years before it went the way of many cinemas in the period and was converted to a bingo hall.
We don’t know what plans there are for the club as yet, with the news of its closure having just been announced. We will be following with interest.
A couple of photos of different aspects of the club. Firstly an interior shot from Playing Bingo contributor Ian Grundy, and second an older view of the exterio dating back to 1993. If you have any photos of this hall, we’d love to share them here so please contact us if you do.

Is this club still open tb thank you
Hi Brian, the club has not reopened as a bingo hall, it has been restored to a cinema and is now open as an Everyman Cinema.
