Paisley Gala Bingo – High Street

This Club Is Closed Or Demolished

Date of closure: 2006

Address (for reference only):

Gala Bingo
High Street

At the moment we do not have details of the events that led up to, or any of the circumstances surrounding the closure of the Gala Bingo Paisley, but we do know a bit about about the venue’s history.

Opening in 1934, the Regal Cinema was one of Scotland’s larger cinemas with seating for over two thousand patrons. In 1963 it became the ABC, but reverted to its original name in 1978 when it was taken operated by Caledonian Associated Cinemas(CAC).

The Regal ceased in 1981, and the County Bingo Club took over, and were later bought out by Gala Bingo. The club closed in 2006, and unfortunately was demolished three years later.

If you have any further details that may assist us, and you would like to share them with our readers, we would love to hear from you. If you let us know what you know, we will put the details online with your name credited (if you wish, or we can credit the article as anonymous). You will be doing a service to the bingo community and posterity by helping us record details of all Britain’s bingo clubs and halls. Thank you.
