At the moment we do not have details of the events that led up to, or any of the circumstances surrounding the closure of the Plaza Bingo And Social Club Northwich. If you have any details that may assist us, and you would like to share them with our readers, we would love to hear from you. If you let us know what you know, we will put the details online with your name credited (if you wish, or we can credit the article as anonymous). You will be doing a service to the bingo community and posterity by helping us record details of all Britain’s bingo clubs and halls. Thank you.
Plaza Bingo and Social Club was obviously a much loved place. As we can see from the exterior shot below, even towards the club’s decline it was kept in good condition. The detail of the cherubs also shows no sign of weathering and is quite a unique example of a cinema centrepiece, as most tended towards the grand whereas this tends towards the classical.
The interior shots again show a building not left to ruin. As it is a protected building there may still be hope for it yet. Its interior is quite conservative, which may be a sign of an independent architect, or may have been due to refurbishment over the years.
