The Empire closed in 2007, and was located on the site of a former theatre. The Empire Garston was built in 1915, but only lasted for three years as a theatre before it was converted to a cinema. The exterior shows no sign of classical design, but its interior has a marble staircase, and chandeliers. Although many of the original features remain, its condition may (or may not) have deteriorated due to lack of use over a few years. We are not sure of the building’s current status, so if you know what’s happening with the Empire Garston, please contact us and let us know.
