At the moment we do not have details of the events that led up to, or any of the circumstances surrounding the closure of the Astoria Bingo Liverpool. If you have any details that may assist us, and you would like to share them with our readers, we would love to hear from you. If you let us know what you know, we will put the details online with your name credited (if you wish, or we can credit the article as anonymous). You will be doing a service to the bingo community and posterity by helping us record details of all Britain’s bingo clubs and halls. Thank you.
The photo below shows a bit of dressing up for a party at the Astoria, although we don’t know what the occasion is. It exemplifies what we love about bingo, it’s all about fun. Of course we all sit there with out fingers crossed waiting for our numbers to come up, but that’s only part of what bingo is all about. Were you in this picture? Have you got any memories of the club and that night in particular that you would like to tel us about? If so please contact us, we’d love to hear from you.
If you have any photos from this lost hall, be it of its interior, the staff, special events, parties, customers and more; and you’d like to share them here, please contact us to arrange adding them to the site.

I used to be the trainee manager of Pockets Snooker Club in 1989, it was shortly after that it became the bingo hall. I was offered a job as manager there but I didn’t fancy it, I remember the owner telling me that he would give somebody a free burger if they would walk around the hall with it, so that people would smell the burger and buy one!
