Date of closure: Autumn 2018

Address (for reference only):

Independent Club

Starting life as a cinema in 1936, the Hucknall Byron Bingo closed in the Autumn of 2018, following a long battle to remain open and in business. An independently run club, its owner Tharmalingam Sritharan put the building on sale via online auction in July 2018, in the hope of finding a buyer who could invest in the building and give him the option to rent the bingo and cinema business back from the building’s owner. Sadly this did not come to fruition, and the club was closed. It’s future is currently uncertain, but it’s likely to be demolished to make way for housing.

  1. There’s a happy ending for this building after bingo ceased. It has been brought back to life as a multi-screen cinema once more.
