Gravesend Gala Bingo – New Road

All that we currently know about this bingo hall is that it is definitely closed. We also know that it was a cinema, although we have failed to unearth more details despite rigorous searching of the internet. The premises have been subject to a failed planning application to turn the premises into a bar. At this juncture, we can only hope that the building will still be around if and when bingo halls make a comeback. Gravesend Gala looked deceptively small from the outside, but interior shots show that set back from the other business, it was quite a large building. The drop lighting in the balcony area looks quite modern, so some refurbishment must have gone on after the use of the premises as a cinema. Not an overly ornate interior, it did have quite a few hints at its original design still in evidence.
