Date of closure: 2005
Address (for reference only):
Clifton Bingo
Grant Street
Cleethorpes
DN35 8AT
Sadly Clifton Bingo Cleethorpes has been demolished, and although for some is not as lamentable as when a 150 year old venue is raised to the ground, it was still a unique piece of architecture. Any bingo hall that disappears is a sad loss to the community, particularly its elderly residents. Its owner did call the closure ‘an end of an era’, and the Newton family who owned the club have also had to close the Queens’ Bingo hall. The Clifton, like many closed clubs has gone the way of property development, never to return as a bingo hall again. A sad loss.
If you have any further details that may assist us, for example the reason for the closure, and you would like to share them with our readers, we would love to hear from you.
