Date of closure: February 2016
Address (for reference only):
Beacon Bingo (Lost Halls)
One of only two bingo halls remaining in Brighton, Beacon Bingo was closed in February 2016 as an ‘economic rationalisation’ by owners the Praesepe Group. Quite simply, the club was losing money. There has however been rumour of an offer having been made of the premises by an undisclosed third party. We do not have any details as to the proposed usage of the building, so there is still a possibility that Brighton may retain a second bingo hall. As soon as we have further details we will let our site visitors know if the club has re-opened under new ownership.
Located on the outskirts of Brighton, and just down the road from Mouslcoombe Wild Park, Brighton Beacon was a modern bingo hall. There were buses from Eastbourne to the club, and there was parking available on-site for those driving to the venue.
If you have any further details that may assist us, and you would like to share them with our readers, we would love to hear from you. If you let us know what you know, we will put the details online with your name credited (if you wish, or we can credit the article as anonymous). You will be doing a service to the bingo community and posterity by helping us record details of all Britain’s bingo clubs and halls. Thank you.
