We have very little information on this club, other than a brief mention on a Facebook history page about Barry. We know the Palace opened as a cinema in 1914, and stopped showing films in the 1950s. Apparently it was a gymnasium at one point, before becoming a bingo hall circa 1958. The building was demolished in 1994, but we’re not sure how long it had been empty prior to demolition, and any of the dates that it ran as a bingo club. The Cadoxton Palace is not to be confused with the other Palace Theatre in Barry which was on Thompson Street. The location of the club was on the corner with Harvey Street, a modern block of flats now occupies the space.
