At the moment we do not have details of the events that led up to, or any of the circumstances of the closure of the Lyric Bingo & Social Club Ardrossan, but we do know a bit about the venue’s history.
The Lyric was originally a cinema that opened in 1932, and continued to show films until its conversion for bingo in 1961. The club closed in the early part of the 2000s, we don’t have an exact date though as to when. Subsequently, the Lyric is no more, as it was demolished and flats and a shop were built on the grounds. However, the facade of the club remains as a reminder to its time as a bingo.
