Date of closure: 2011

Address (for reference only):

Empire Bingo Accrington closed at some point in 2011 due to falling attendance, precipitated by the smoking ban. We think that the venue was previously a cinema or a theatre, but other than that we have little information about the club. If you have any further details that may assist us, and you would like to share them with our readers, we would love to hear from you. If you let us know what you know, we will put the details online with your name credited (if you wish, or we can credit the article as anonymous). You will be doing a service to the bingo community and posterity by helping us record details of all Britain’s bingo clubs and halls. Thank you.

A planning application has been submitted for the venue to be transformed into a restaurant. A change of use to the ‘Kebabish Original’ has been submitted by Umraz Khan to add the premises to a chain of 110 restaurants, providing 10 jobs in a 50 seater eaterie.

  1. Often mistaken for being a former cinema, but the Empire Bingo club was a Co-Op store prior to bingo.
