  1. Although I love going to Mayfair to play bingo the food is a let down. It says on the menu ‘chosen by the members’, I don’t think it is. I used to buy a meal or snack every time I visited, but since the new menu it definitely has gone down in my estimation. I had a hot-dog with onions priced at £2.99 all it is now is cheap hot-dogs out of a tin, a warm roll warmed up in microwave, that goes hard when cold, I also tried the spicy cheese nachos priced at £2.99, there was less than a bag of nachos in a cardboard box with some warm squirty cheese on. Then I tried the chicken wrap again priced at £2.99 I got a soggy wrap with lots of lettuce and the equivalent to a chicken nugget sliced up and put in the wrap, then last but not least, the chocolate muffin, priced at £1.29, it used to be a nice big muffin, lots of chocolate, it is now just a small doughy goo, even though it is half the size the price has not gone down. I bring my own muffin in now from Gregg’s priced at 85p and equivalent to the original ones Mecca had. I will still use the club, but definitely will not be buying their food. I don’t know what has happened because everything before was value for money, but not anymore, I think you’ve just got greedy and tried getting as much as they can from customers, but not from this one anymore.

  2. I used to love going regularly but in recent times there as been too much use of maxx machines and you have very little chance of ever winning with the tickets. There are certain individuals that are turning up at the hall most nights and have purchased maximum tickets on the maxx boards and are literally winning vasts amount of money each time they go. The enjoyment of having a good night out has gone and the spirit of a level playing field has disappeared. Mecca are insistent in keep having the maxx machines, but numbers have fallen a lot over the week because people are very disillusioned about the situation. Mecca are trying to offer cheaper ticket prices more often across the week but it as had no real effect on numbers because of the amount of individuals winning so much so often because of there being too much advantage with the people who can afford maxx machines.
