Located in the centre of town, The Coronet is a fair sized club, and opens every day of the year apart from Christmas day. They’ve even got a subsidised bus service, but you’ll need to ring the club for details of this. Prices at the time of writing are quite reasonable (again, check this via telephone).
The Coronet was originally a cinema that opened in 1933 with modest seating for 600. Originally there had been the ‘Old Coronet’ next door which was there before the new one was built, although when the ‘New Coronet’ took over the old one was converted into a shop. Its usage was split for bingo in 1971, and the cinema element of the venue folded in the 1980s. If you have any further information to to add then please contact us.
