This modern, purpose-built venue beside the Bangor Omniplex has been operating for more than two decades, originally trading as Oasis Bingo Bangor under Oasis Retail Services, a Northern Irish gaming and amusement company whose roots trace back to Joyland Amusements (N.I.) Ltd, incorporated in 1968. It offered a typical modern bingo setup of traditional caller-led sessions, electronic bingo, gaming machines, food and drink facilities and free parking, running several sessions a day and building up a loyal local following over its many years as Oasis.
In October 2025, Merkur Casino UK completed its acquisition of Oasis Retail Services, gaining its first major foothold in Northern Ireland with the deal covering 16 venues across the province. Rather than folding the club into a generic Merkur-branded chain, the venue was relaunched under a new local identity as Bangor Bingo, with the changeover formally announced as the club’s next chapter after “more than two decades at the heart of the local community.” The club remains open and trading under this name in 2026, still offering the same bingo, gaming and amenities, with recent planning records showing continued investment in the site, including new LED signage.
