Chain: Club 3000 (Lost Halls)
Club 3000 is the biggest bingo success story of the past two decades. Founded in 2006 by Brian Fraser, the family-run chain opened its first club in Coatbridge, near Glasgow, a purpose-built venue that made headlines just two years later when it paid out a world-record £1.2 million to a single winner. The business, operated under Fraser Capital Management and licensed by the Gambling Commission, has since grown into one of the UK’s leading retail bingo operators, currently running clubs across England, Scotland, and Wales.
Like all big bingo chains, clubs close and relocate to new premises as circumstances change — whether through lease issues, site redevelopment, or a move to a better-suited venue nearby. Listed on this page are the Club 3000 halls that have closed down.
Among the chain’s closures, the long-running Bristol venue at the Broadwalk Shopping Centre closed its doors after problems were discovered with the shopping centre’s car park. In the Bristol club’s case, the closure isn’t the end of the story — Club 3000 has confirmed plans to relocate the Bristol operation to a new venue in Bedminster, expected to open in 2027, continuing the chain’s pattern of moving to fresh premises rather than exiting a town altogether.
This pattern of relocation rather than outright withdrawal has been part of Club 3000’s growth strategy more broadly — the chain has expanded significantly since 2006 partly by acquiring and renovating sites previously operated by other chains, including former Buckingham Bingo clubs when that chain broke up in 2011. As such, some “closed” Club 3000 halls may represent the same underlying business moving to a better location within the same town, rather than a genuine exit from that market.
