Innuendo Bingo is played on the Scott Mills Radio 1 show and you only have to take a look on You Tube to see a whole host of celebrities getting soaked. On 5th May Scott tweeted “Loving that Australian radio stations have ripped off Innuendo Bingo with no shame. Haven’t even changed the name!”
A little investigation revealed that Nova Brisbane has been playing Innuendo Bingo for a little while now on the Ash, Kip and Luttsy’s Breakfast show. On 15th March Radio Info reported that Ash, Kip and Luttsy were surprised to hear that Innuendo Bingo featured on Kyle and Jackie O’s show on 14th March believing the idea had been pinched from them! 2DayFM, the radio station that hosts the Kyle and Jackie O show, soon put them straight referencing Scott Mills and UK’s BBC Radio 1 as the source.
For eight month’s now Nova FM have played the game and are accusing 2DayFM of stealing the idea from them. They cite Brian McFadden as the cause if the ‘theft’ as he is close friends with the radio DJ Kyle Sandilands. They even use the wording “dead set stolen it off us”. No wonder Scott Mills is spitting feathers although towards the end of the audio the question is asked “Who came up with the idea originally here?” and the Nova FM hosts answer “Someone in England actually!”
It just goes to show, if you create something that makes people laugh or attracts listeners/players/clients, someone is soon going to come along and pinch your idea!
