The News And Star newspaper recently ran a story title “Cumbrian Woman ‘Wins’ A Husband At Bingo” about a player who bagged herself a hubby thanks to a visit to her local bingo hall. This is winning with a difference and there’s now a full house for this bingo player as she has two children with her lucky suitor. The proposal came as Zoe Nicholson, 23, attended a bingo session with family and friends to celebrate her birthday but wasn’t too surprised when the caller said there was a special birthday message.
However, the usual birthday announcement that we see at many a land based bingo session was not what Zoe received. Her partner and father two her two children walked in, got down on one knee and promptly proposed to her in front of all the other bingo players at the Opera Bingo hall in Whitehaven, Cumbria.
Of course the staff and players alike were all overjoyed at Zoe accepting the proposal but it will be a while until the couple actually tie the knot according to the news piece, a little saving has to be done before finances allow the nuptials to take place. Maybe Zoe and Ryan will get lucky whilst playing at the Opera Bingo hall.
Janet Mingins, the assistant manager, was reported to have revealed that this was the first proposal at the club – maybe they could offer the bingo hall as the venue for the wedding reception of Zoe and Ryan; it could keep the elderly relatives happy!
