Just a quick update on yesterday’s post about the closure of the Swindon Mecca Bingo. This Is Wiltshire has a follow up story that the hall’s new owners, the Borough Council will be talking to Mecca Bingo about keeping the hall running for a time. Personally, I think it’s clutching at straws for the disappointed members, but the decision to close the hall would have been based on it making losses. I doubt it would make good business sense for Mecca Bingo to keep the hall open, even if the local council wanted them to.
