A couple of news stories today about Foxy Bingo. The Sun is reporting that Foxy Bingo’s celebrity endorsement with Katie Price (aka Jordan) has come to an end. Katie became the star of Foxy Bingo’s adverts last January, as well has having her own charity room at the site where 50% of the proceeds were donated to the charities of her choice. For all the good she’s done to help Foxy raise its image in a saturated market, Katie’s recent run of showbiz success has helped raise her rate card and price herself out of Foxy’s reach.
Anyway, to be honest I’ve never been a fan of celebrity tie ins at Bingo sites, for me it’s lazy and unimaginative marketing. Foxy should be hitting the right note with their new advertising campaign which kicks off on Monday 21st January, in the 7:45pm Coronation Street break. The advert features over 200 of Foxy’s own players alongside a newly revamped Foxy.
And it’s not just the ad campaign that’s got a fresh coat of paint. Expecting a rush of new players, Foxy Bingo has added six new rooms to the site, alongside some new jackpots and promotions. They’ve also doubled the sign-up bonus for new players as well. Instead of £5 free for new players, they will now get a massive £10 free. Now, like celebrity tie ins, I’m not a fan of big free sign-up bonuses either, but that’s a whole another post in itself. Lets hope the gamble in their bonus, and the new campaign pays off for Foxy, and they continue there rise to the top flight of online bingo in the UK. Now, if they could just ditch their below par Globalcom platform, they’d raise up the league in my eyes as well.
