Gala TV One Year Old This Week

Woah! Where has the last year gone? I was reminded that the 4th of October was the birthday of Gala TV – the UK’s first Bingo TV channel. It’s been going from strength to strength over the last 12 months with a growing user base and a number of special events under their belt. To mark their first year providing Bingo direct to your TV, they’re having a number of special birthday events this week that you may want to watch out for.

I still haven’t had a chance to see the channel – (841 via Sky) as I’ve never felt the need to get Sky over the Freeview I have. However, with this channel of UK Bingo growing in importance for the UK’s players, I think I’m going to have to get myself connected. Then at least, I can see our resident columnist and Gala TV caller Brett Hyrjak in action! Gala haven’t had it all their own way the last year either, early this year Big Box Bingo launched over the airwaves, albeit on a much smaller scale. It’ll be worth seeing if anyone else fancies dipping their toe in the satellite market.

Rather than waffle on, I’ll let the people from Gala TV tell you some more about what they’ve done, and what they’ve got lined up for this special birthday week:

Gala TV, Sky digital channel 841, generates over 4000 winners a week and gives away over £100,000 in prize money every day through its different games. One of the channel’s biggest highlights includes over 15,000 members taking part in the live screening of Gala Bingo’s KerChingo, which made Bristol based Pauline Clarke bingo’s first ever millionaire.

Some of the special games hosted during Gala TV’s anniversary week include:

‘Buy one get one free day’ on Wednesday 3rd October

A free game every hour on Gala TV’s actual birthday, Thursday 4th October

The week will climax with the welcome return of Linda Robson, of ‘Birds of a Feather’ fame, who will make a special appearance for a two hour fun packed first birthday special on Sunday 7th October.

Anyway, happy birthday from us, Gala TV!
