Software: Leapfrog Gaming 3D (Now Closed) Software

The Leapfrog Gaming 3D software was unique in the world of online bingo as it was (in spirit) an early precursor to the current fad for the metaverse, and was also one of the few that required a download and software install to play it. As such, it only worked on Windows and was a self-contained experience that the user had to fire up to use.

The software gave you an avatar that you could use to walk around the 3D bingo hall / casino (set on a ship) and join the games that way. You could see other users also walking about in a very basic 3D environment. Whether this added anything to the bingo is another question, but for toughing it out long past the time everyone else had gone browser based, you can imagine why this software was eventually abandoned and the properties using it closed their doors.
