Chain: NB Leisure
NB Leisure was once a small two club Scottish chain, though today the company operates a single surviving venue, Glasgow Vogue Bingo on Cumbernauld Road, following the closure of its second club, Bathgate Pavilion Bingo on George Place.
The company, NB Leisure Limited, was incorporated on 2 October 1995 and continues to run the Glasgow club from the same address today. The venue occupies a notable building, the former Riddrie Cinema, which opened in 1938 as a striking Art Deco super-cinema designed by architect James McKissack, complete with a distinctive white tiled facade. It was renamed the Vogue Cinema in 1950 after being bought by the Singleton cinema circuit, before converting to bingo use in 1968, and remains a well-preserved example of its style today.
While NB Leisure currently trades from just one site, we’ve kept it filed as a chain given its history as a two club operation and the fact that the same company continues trading. Should NB Leisure expand again in the future, this page can be updated to reflect a renewed multi-club estate.
