Chain: Boyle Bingo
Boyle Bingo is a small retail bingo chain operating in Northern Ireland, with clubs including a venue in Banbridge on Newry Street. The chain is run under Boyle Bingo Ltd, a company registered in Newry, Northern Ireland.
The Boyle name is best known in Ireland through BoyleSports, the bookmaking giant founded in 1982 by John Boyle, who opened his first betting shop in Markethill, County Armagh. What began as a single shop grew rapidly — the company had 77 shops by August 2004 and opened its 100th store in 2006, before expanding further through acquisitions, including taking over shops from Celtic Bookmakers in 2011. Today, BoyleSports operates over 380 retail branches across Ireland and the UK, headquartered in Dundalk with a satellite office in Gibraltar.
Alongside its core sports betting business, the wider Boyle Sports group has diversified into other gaming areas, including online casino, poker, and bingo products. Boyle Bingo represents the retail extension of that gaming interest, offering a small, dedicated chain of bingo clubs across Northern Ireland, distinct from the group’s much larger betting shop network.
Compared to the national English and Welsh bingo chains, Boyle Bingo remains a modest operation — currently comprising five clubs — reflecting its status as a secondary venture for a company whose main strength and reputation lies in sports betting rather than bingo specifically.
