It's not the first time I've featured a story about a National Bingo Game prize causing friction between friends and relatives, but this one has a bit of a twist. Instead of featuring a dispute around a share of the National Bingo prize, this one features a dispute about how the money is spent. The Mirror features the story of Sharon Wolsey's big win of £23,000 and the following punch-up that occurred at the Morriston Castle Bingo following an argument between Sharon and her sister Lisa on how best to spend the money.
Sharon wanted to spend it all on a fairytale wedding to her long time partner, but her sister Lisa thought it a waste of money and better spent elsewhere. This resulted in drunken brawl between the pair and a big family falling out. I'm starting to wonder if these big Bingo prizes should come with a health warning - 'beware, big wins can seriously damage your relationships.' Personally, given the current financial circumstances, if I had that sort of money I'd get it in cash and hide it under the mattress.
