The Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline was home to a Bingo hall for 40 years until it closed last year. Like many old style Bingo halls, it had originally been a theatre that was re-purposed for the great game in the golden age UK Bingo back in the 60s. When the club closed last year, it was a part of the Carlton Bingo chain.
In an interesting twist, the site is set to be returned to its former use as a theatre, with restoration plans in the offing. It could open as a 1000 seat theatre in a years time. It's interesting to see the picture of the interior on the BBC News report on the theatre - it reminds me of my old hall and many of the smaller halls that are sadly disappearing as time goes on and they become less financially viable.
