I'm just catching up with myself after a couple of very interesting days at Bullet Business' 2nd Annual Online Bingo Summit in London. The event was well run and well attended, with around 180 people from the online bingo and related industries present. It just goes to show how much the event has grown, along with the industry this last year. The attendance has almost tripled on the first summit, where there were just over 60 attendees.
It seems growth in the online space is continuing to grow apace, there was much talk about the health of the market, the potential growth and the need for online bingo sites to differentiate themselves from the rest of the market. The various panels covered a number of specific topics on the industry. Over the next week or so I will be putting together some articles on what for me where the main themes of the summit - so stay tuned for more. These will include a look at the ongoing marketing of the game, the work of affiliates, the European market, technology advances and how the game will continue to grow in the UK space.
On a personal level, it was a great opportunity for me to meet a number of people in the industry that I've only known previously by email and web story. It was also good to see a mix of people in attendance. As well as the online arm of the game, there were attendees from smaller land based Bingo operations as well, looking into the potential of broadening their market online.
All in all, it was a rewarding event and comes highly recommended from myself - and if you think it sounds like something you'd like to be at next year, the 3rd annual Online Bingo Summit will be held the 23rd and 24th of September 2008, so make a note in your diary and keep an eye on the Bullet Business website.
