The Rank Group, the company behind Mecca Bingo are set to further cut back on their Bingo holding with news that they plan to sell off around 10 of their 103 Bingo Halls. This news is on top of the nine clubs closed in recent months.
The clubs are the ones most under threat from the fast approaching smoking ban. There is still hope as the clubs are all under review. The halls earmarked are ones thought to be most at risk from the revenue losses expected when the ban begins to bite. Unfortunately, my guess is that once more, it's the smaller and more character filled halls that will suffer.
