Post Ban Smoking Articles - Old News Archive

The smoking ban's been with us a couple of weeks now, so I thought it would be a good time to have a look at some related articles. Firstly, there's been all sorts of plans for a smoking shelters outside Bingo halls. This story from Bristol on the Mecca Bingo in Barton Hill and their shelter caught my eye as they've rigged it up with a PA system to allow the smokers to play outside and it mentions future plans for electronic terminals.

Meanwhile, there's a nice piece in icWales about the introduction of the ban at my old home club - the Canton Castle in Cardiff. One day in and there's no change in attendances - but that's too short a time frame to judge it on. It's interesting to read a range of views from the club members though, a nice balanced range of views.

Up in Bolton, This Is Lancashire reports on MP David Crausby and his putting his name to the "Stop Destroying My Bingo" campaign. He's concerned enough that he may put forward an Early Day Motion in Parliament to remove VAT from the Bingo industry's tax burden. good luck on that one.
